I have nothing but perkins diesel generators installed at our home, my business and our cabin at the lake. The main reason is that they give me electricity when it is needed without trouble. I have a permanently installed unit at the home and the house. The one at the cabin is a large portable model that we pull out of a shed and run while we are there. It is nice and quiet under load. We do not run that one around the clock. We run it in the evening and during the day during meal preparations. One year I was up there fishing and ran it during the day to power a small air conditioner I installed. It was really hot that year. That was one visit where it ran all night too. I like diesel much better than gasoline powered models, especially at the cabin. I bring in fuel on my pickup in a bed mounted tank and transfer it to a tank up against the cabin. Diesel stores better and is far less volatile than gasoline.
