I was searching for a sporting goods store in the area one day when it occurred to me that I should use the same directory listings to find my own business. I searched and searched, but no matter what search terms I used, I couldn’t locate my business. This was shocking to me because I assumed I would automatically included, and it was disturbing because I suddenly got a sense of how much business I might have been losing to my competitors who easily showed up on these lists. I tried several different directory listings, and I found the same thing each time: I was nowhere to be found. When a friend tried searching for me, he did find me on one, but I was on the 20th page; who in the world looks on the 20th page? I knew I had to do something because I was literally letting customers slip through my fingers.

It would be most essential, though, for such establishments to make a good impression by promoting a positive image.
We recently opened a new bakery location on the other side of town and it is not doing as well as we had hoped. We have plenty of customers at our other location and it is doing very well. That is why we opened a second store. We have decided that they problem is that people do not know about us. We need to do more advertising and get our name out there more often. We are looking for that perfect promotional item to send around with customers and include at local events. So far, we have considered mugs, but decided that they were far too cliche. One of the other things we decided on was stress balls. It seems like they are something that people would use, and they are unique. My boss really liked the idea when I proposed stress balls at my old job, so I have confidence in them working for us.
