On the Morning Joe show, Mike Barnicle was one of the guests that talked about Obama’s ‘hands off’ policy, which basically says that the U.S. does not want to interfere with the affairs of Iran. Mike made the statement that “75% of the population in Iran is 30 years of age or younger, and it’s almost watching a quasi religious domestic dispute occurring right in front of our eyes. You’d have to be insane as a country, us, to inject ourselves into that.”

His statement seems like a lame excuse to explain the President’s desire to not involve the U.S. in any of Iran’s affairs, even while knowing the Iranian government continues to slaughter its own people. Meddling in the affairs of other countries may be none of our business, but if we can do something to help stop the violence, shouldn’t we? Tom Brokaw responded to Mike by saying that there is going to be a long term relationship of some form with Iran.
